Using All the Buttons on Profile Screen

(HELP ?) Circles provide narratives on Training, Explanations, and Hints. These can be related to the overall screen, or to specific items on the screen.

You found the (HELP ?) Circle narrative for "Using All the Buttons on the Profile Screen" by clicking the (COMPREHENSIVE HELP ?) Circle on the "ADD PROFILE" Screen or the "VIEW OR UPDATE PROFILE" Screen in MemberLink (hereafter referred to as "PROFILE" Screen) or any of the other screens related to "Profiles" that have this (COMPREHENSIVE HELP ?) Circle..

Before proceeding, please be sure you have previously clicked the (HELP ?) Circle that leads to the narrative on "Overview and Basics: Using the Profile Screen". Being familiar with the general information about the "PROFILE" Screen may be helpful to you.

The following information relates specifically to the three "Buttons" found on the "PROFILE" Screens.

Adding a New Person:

From the "ADD PROFILE" Screen, you can add a new person (contact record). At four locations on the screen, you can find the [ADD/SAVE] Button. It is located on the screen in four places merely as a convenience to you. Any one of the four does the same thing.

When you have the minimum required data entered to create a new contact record, click the [ADD/SAVE] Button to save your work. The person is not added until after you click the Button.

After you click the [ADD/SAVE] Button, you will see the results displayed. From there, you can go back to the "CONTACTS" Screen.

Updating an Existing Person:

From the "VIEW OR UPDATE PROFILE" Screen, you can change data or modify data for an existing person (contact record). At four locations on the screen, you can find the [UPDATE/SAVE] Button. It is located on the screen in four places merely as a convenience to you. Any one of the four does the same thing.

After you have made your changes, click the [UPDATE/SAVE] Button to save your work. The changed data is not applied until after you click the Button.

After you click the [UPDATE/SAVE] Button, you will see the results displayed. From there, you can go back to the "CONTACTS" Screen.

Aborting the Add or Update Attempt:

From either of the "PROFILE" Screens, you can change your mind and abort. At two locations on the screen, one at the top and one at the bottom, you can find the [BACK TO CONTACTS] Button.

No matter what data you may have added or changed, when you click the [BACK TO CONTACTS] Button your work will not be saved or applied. This allows you to change your mind and not update the contact record.

After you click the [BACK TO CONTACTS] Button, you will be back at the "CONTACTS" Screen.
